It's weird, because even though she was just a dog she meant a whole lot more to me.
Her name was Swipper, and I know it is also a name of some sort of cleaning agent, but that just shows how old she was, since Swipper also is the name of a cartoon character from a beloved TV-show back when I was little. I hated when people made fun of her name.
Unfortunately, this last year, she has become a bit crazy, especially when she choosed to take a fight with our other dog, all because of some food. She had never done that before, so it came as a big shock. And suddenly the whole family started to worry "Oh, what if she would do that to some child?", "What if she would do that again?", "What if the nexttime she wont let go?".
But that wasn't all. I could see she was hurting. She had dog cancer and therefore she had developed these lumps. That also meant that everytime you would pet her you could see that even though she was happy for the company, it also hurted. Also, she was loosing weight way too fast, even though she was eating.
She has had a long and happy life, filled with hunting trips, laying on the couch, exploring the fields, and making friends with the cats and cows.
I know it was for the best to let her go, but that doesn't mean it is any easier or that I will miss her any less.
But for now, R.I.P Swipper. I will never forget you.
